great talk! I wonder if your field experiments could be informed by stable isotope work (Ca, Mg, or Sr), which could shed light on the relative proportions of amorphous versus crystalline carbonate. do you envision that amorphous carbonates may be more easily weathered and therefore serve as a less viable long term storage solution relative to crystalline carbonates?
