My Goldschmidt

Role functions

Details for: Maya Kopylova

I graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University and got Ph.D. at the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth (Moscow, USSR) where Prof. Genshaft introduced me to mantle xenoliths. In 1993-1994 I held an NRC Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Cape Town (RSA) where I was introduced to diamonds and diamond inclusion research by Prof. Gurney. Since 1995 I work at the University of British Columbia, first as a PDF, then as a Research Associate and currently as a Professor. Our Diamond Exploration Lab studies samples of kimberlites, diamonds and mantle xenoliths from various cratons and continents. I teach several undergraduate courses on Petrology and a graduate course in diamond exploration.
