How reliable is the correlation between the occurrence of fossils of a certain type with age of speleothems? Is it possible to date fossils directly?

It seems that the ~100 ka samples have much more precise ages than the ~400 ka samples. Do you have an explanation?

What are the implications to the Homo genus for this evidence of these teeth within this site being an extra 100 Ka older than previous thought?
