My Goldschmidt

Role functions

Details for: Hayden Dalton

I am highly motivated current PhD student at The University of Melbourne with School of Earth Sciences. Our research aims to understand how, when, and why fluids and melts affect the deep realms of our planet. Resolving the genesis of these fluids and melts has implications for the transport of chemical species and minerals (including diamonds). We also seek to better understand the genesis and evolution of kimberlites, the most deeply derived magmas on our planet – and the principal host of diamonds. In addition, I am an experienced researcher, tutor, demonstrator, teacher and now coordinator of the In2science outreach program. All of these roles have the aim of educating and increasing scientific awareness and participation and I am always looking to expand my expertise within the STEM outreach space by utilising my passion for this area where participation is in decline.
