My Goldschmidt

Role functions

Details for: Amy Lewis

My name is Amy Lewis, I’m a 2nd PhD student at the University of Sheffield (UK) and work as part of a larger project that is looking at the whether applying crushed basalt to croplands may carbon CO2 through accelerating weathering processes http://lc3m.org/ (enhanced weathering) . Most of my work so far, has looked at the mineralogy of different commercially available basalt and assessing their weathering potential through geochemical modelling, though other parts of my project involve weathering experiments and analysing data from basalt from enhanced weathering experiments to study alteration and the potential for weathered basalt to bond with organic carbon.
