Abstract: Iron Isotopes as Tracers of Core Composition
Medal lecture in:
Session 21c in Club E on Thursday 20th August 07:30 - 08:15

Citation: Anat Shahar is a staff scientist at the Geophysical Laboratory at the Carnegie Institution of Washington. Her specialty is combining experimental petrology and stable isotope geochemistry in order to attain a better understanding of how stable isotopes can reveal the conditions at which planetary bodies formed through both high pressure and temperature experiments and in situ measurements of natural materials. Her research interests include: planetary differentiation; early solar system formation; composition of planetary cores; stable isotope fractionation mechanisms; and laser ablation and MC-ICPMS techniques.
