In your summary statistics table there is also fluctuation in the iron data. Considering you are analyzing pyrites, which should have a fairly narrow range of iron contents, how do you account for this? Are small variations in iron enhanced by your normalization? Or, is the iron content of your pyrites really very variable? In Daniel Gregory's talk at this conference he describes how Mo data on framboids acquired from LA-ICP-MS may actually be sampling the matrix. Can you rule out such a matrix effect for the other elements?
