Great talk, Ko, thank you. How about xenon, then. Do you think Xe can also be incorporated in some lower mantle minerals?
Thank you very much for your question. In our research, unfortunately, we don't know whether xenon can be incorporated to the lower mantle minerals or not. However, some previous studies suggested that xenon can be incorporated to SiO2 at Moderate Pressure and High Temperature (Crépisson et al., 2019, Geochem Geophys) In addition, Rosa et al. (2018, AGU abstract) seem to be studying incorporation of xenon into (Mg1-x,Fex)O, one of the lower-mantle inerals.
