Dear Dr Lu, Do you have a way of mapping the trace element analyses to the very nice cathodoluminescence images?
Thank you for your question. Firstly, to find the target minerals by using optical microscope and mark it (if the sample is thin section I usually circle on it). Then, to observe the target mineral employing the optical microscopy cathodoluminescence which you have marked previously and take CL pictures. Finally, LA-ICP-MS was used to analyze different CL color regions. I hope my answer will answer your question.
