Are there other sources of drinking water for local populations so they can avoid drinking U-rich water?
In very remote locations in India, where public water supply does not reach, unfortunately people do not have sources other than groundwater. As data compiled by the present study suggests, U contamination decreases with depth. Deeper aquifers have therefore safer drinking water as far as uranium is concerned.
